The opossum is a horrible creature. Seeing one is like seeing el chupacabra, or some sort of demon. One looked at me with its hideous zombie face yesterday.

Recurring imagery in my dreams:

-A rocky beach with also some trees there on a peninsula right next to us
-Swimming next to a boat (you have to be careful or you'll get pulled under and chopped up by the propeller.)
-Something that's right on the tip of my brain and is very frightening I'm pretty sure but I can't seem to know what it is, but it's familar so I know I've dreamed about it before a lot.
-Very low gravity specific only to me

School is lame because I am retarded. I signed up for a bunch of hard classes to help my college situation even though it probably won't and I'm just taking boring ass classes for no reason. I need to start actually reading and taking notes so I stop failing them too. I need to write this paper too. Why can't we just listen to lectures all day for psych like all my other AP classes.

12 days until school starts, and man am I ready. Well not ready in terms of summer reading, but ready in terms of I am really ready to meet some new people. I feel like I've changed a lot this summer. Last summer, I would go through long periods of feeling like utter shit. This summer, even though I've really been more of a loser than I was last summer, I have had maybe 2 nights like that. Probably because the end is in sight. One more year and I'm out of here. I know I can do it. I do regret not working out throughout the summer. I might have a decent build by now if I had stuck to it. Oh well, it's never too late to start.

Time to talk about music. This summer my laptop died, so I ahd to move to this shitty PC. I decided that I wasn't going to install limewire on this PC, just bittorrent. Because of that, I only downloaded full albums. My mind is full of music now and not just little snippets and singles, whole albums of it. Here's a good line from something I got today:

You'll never hear me talk about
One day gettin' out
Why put a new address
On the same ol' lonliness

Argh I missed a day. Well all that happened is my mom started wigging out cause she has the night shift this week and we haven't done shit since we moved in.

Now on to today. Me and P tried to play tennis 'cause there isn't shit here to do. We bought the wrong balls and it turns out my sister's racket is actually a raquetball racket.Tennis outing: Failure.

Didn't do shit again today. But I did get some good music to listen to. I can't believe I wrote off a lot of these bands after just downloading like 4 songs of theirs on limewire. Here's a line from Steppenwolf I liked:

"'Most men will not swim before they are able to.' Is that not witty? Naturally, they won't swim! They are born for solid earth, not for the water. And naturally they won't think. They are made for life, not for thought. Yes, and he who thinks, what's more, he who makes thought his business, he may go far in it, but he has bartered the solid earth for the water all the same, and one day he will drown."

A called today, but I missed it because it was at like 10 and I was still sleeping. I didn't call him back today. I didn't call Taco Bell either. I did go to the library though. Had to return the Tom Robbins book I didn't read. I picked up Siddartha and Steppenwolf though. They seem short, I might finish them off one of these days.

I also downloaded Either/Or just a few minutes ago. Between the Bars is playing right now. This was the second song of his I ever heard. The first was Needle in the Hay.

I looked up sewing patterns today on a whim. I found some cool cheap ones from back in the day. They're 4 bucks a piece so I'll probably get 5 or so of them once my mom gets a credit card. The pants, jacket and shirt one for sure. I'd love to make my own jacket. I have such a hard time finding well fitted coats and jackets, and they really complete your look. I have to learn how to use a sewing machine too.

I went with R today. We went to another girls house where we played flashlight tag. I guess that's what people who don't drink or listen to music do at each other's houses. They were all like her; jesus freaks I mean, not quirky and interesting. These guys are like the opposite of who I thought I'd be hanging out with 6 years ago. I figured I would hang out with stoners like my brothers. These guys loathe stoners. Half of their stories sounded like those obnoxious TRUTH commercials. 'Ever since she started smoking pot, she's just been skin laying around the house'.

R offered to call up some girl they all used to know but didn't talk to anymore cause she smokes weed now.

'I'll call her up and tell her to come play like we were 5 again.'

Fancy meeting you here

I've decided this will serve as a daily journal for me from now on, instead of random thoughts. So here goes the first of many daily entries.

Today we cleaned out the garage in this swimming heat. I was drowning in sweat so I put a bandanna on around my hair, like a headband. I thought it looked cool as hell but everyone said it looked lame. They don't know how hard it is to have a mess of curly hair like mine though so I don't really care what they think about it. Anyway that was a pain in the ass.

Then I came home and downloaded Scissor Sisters. I heard 'Mary' playing in the grocery store and it reminded me how much I liked them. I also managed to get R's phone number but I closed the window it was in before I wrote it down. She says she wants to do something tomorrow after my pictures. She's such an awesome person. She's really the kind of person I like; really genuine and a little odd. I wish I was more like her. More genuine. I should lead a less phony life. That's a good goal for senior year: eliminate phoniness. I've got a lot of defense barriers I've got to get over for that. Well just one really: making light of everything. I don't think anyone really takes me that seriously at all, which kind of makes me feel like I have to make people laugh all the time which is pretty tiring.
